The pending RFP proposal is putting small bus companies at risk of going out of business, this lead to a demonstration this Friday held in front of the MPP’s office with over 50 buses driving by honking while passing by the plaza to support their employer who are looking to end the RFP process, With testimony from Sherry Barker stating that RFP’s have always been harmful to small bus companies. Currently the contract is set to end in August 2021 and most drivers final days of work at the end of the school year in June. MacPherson will be submitting an application for her business when it come time for it, but states that she doesn’t know if she’ll be applicable and Barker mentioned that they’re worried about a driver shortage continued by lower wages following the RFP process

The Tri-Board Transportation CEO confirmed that the RFP will be release in a few days and explains that it’s not about eliminating bus companies but about keeping contract agreements open.
