This time of the year is supposed to be filled with happiness and Christmas cheer. We could all use this, especially with the way 2020 has been going. New toys and tech products are hitting stores. Like the brand-new PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Internet trends and the low stock has caused a controversial start to the next Gen era.
With Christmas around the corner, everyone is looking for the highly anticipated next generation consoles. If you are trying to pick up the newly released PlayStation 5 you might have to give up an arm or a leg. Walmart Canada announced earlier this month they officially had some in stock online. That didn’t last long. Thousands of people went to buy one and the site crashed multiple times. The replies under Walmart’s tweet were vicious, like wild dogs. Were they rude, maybe, honestly I don’t blame them. Christmas is coming and people need presents.
Did your parents ever tell you not to do something so ridiculous? Think back to when teenagers were eating Tide pods and being rushed to the hospital. It is all the same crazy thoughts, just a few years removed. Well with the debut of the long-awaited XBOX series X there was bound to be some troubling Internet trends. A rumor went around that the new console could overheat so much that it would start to pour out smoke. That was quickly debunked. The real cause was, and try to fathom the stupidity from this, people would blow vape smoke into the 700-dollar console. The XBOX Twitter account said last week, “We can’t believe we have to say this, but please do not blow vape smoke into the XBOX series X.”
From idiotic trends to next to zero items in stock people are having a hard time getting their hands on one of the new consoles. Please don’t use the black market as a last resort. We hope you find one before Christmas morning. But don’t give anyone a hard time because retailers have had a rough time as well.
